UN Climate Summit Pakistan – 2014

Islamabad, November 24, 2014 - Climate Summit 2014 Pakistan was jointly held by Centre for Climate Research and Development (CCRD) and United Nations Pakistan in COMSATS Seminar Hall on September 22, 2014. The purpose of the event was to highlight the importance of the Global Climate Summit 2014 hosted by Mr. Ban Ki Moon Secretary General of the United Nations, on September 23 2014 at UN Headquarters in New York.

Over 20 experts from academia, government, non-governmental and international organizations, corporate sector and civil society discussed Pakistan’s vulnerability to Climate Change and its manifestations like floods and droughts. The summit focused on themes of Agriculture, Water, Air Pollution, Cities, Energy, and Funding and Resilience.

The United Nations Pakistan has since released its September/October Newsletter focusing on the Climate Summit, specifically the topics discussed, and the viewpoints of its participants and organizers.
